Robots In Love is a three-piece dark electronic rock band based in Ōtepoti Dunedin, producing spellbinding songs fuelled by musical passion.
With influences as diverse as Nine Inch Nails, Bring Me The Horizon and Massive Attack, their sound combines cinematic elements, dark electronics and metal riffs, all held together by the energetic vocal delivery of front woman Elenor Rayner. This inimitable combination creates technically precise yet emotionally evocative musical worlds that captivate listeners from the very first note to the final drop.
The band consists of vocalist Elenor Rayner, drummer Alex Burchell, and guitarist Henry Flynn Wall, with all members contributing electronic production. Together, this powerhouse trio brings a modern edge to a sound rooted in alternative rock.
They have released five singles, several tracks on local and overseas compilations and their debut album ACTIVATE! which reached the official Aotearoa Top 20 chart.
Their videos have had over 300K views on YouTube with 16K subscribers.
They have been touring constantly around the motu, and made three trips to Australia for festival performances, making a name for their dynamic and high-energy live performances.
Originally starting as Elenor Rayner's solo project, the group evolved when Alex Burchell joined with his precise and innovative drumming style, followed by Henry Flynn Wall, whose powerful guitar work adds to their dynamic sound. The trio collaborates in producing and writing their songs, showcasing undeniable chemistry with each artist being a master of their craft.
With a wide and varied palette of musical influences, their music is sculpted with a strong attention to detail and sense of technical precision that is characteristic of modern progressive music. Robots In Love pushes the boundaries of modern alternative music with their genre-melting sound to create a listening experience that's future-thinking while nodding back to alternative rock sounds of the past.

Robots in Love merge the raw power of rock guitar and drums with the hypnotic beats and bass of electronic music. They add cinematic elements and vocal harmonies and the result is epic.
Vocalist Elenor Rayner, drummer Alex Burchell and guitarist Henry Flynn Wall delve into everything from metal to drum'n'bass to dubstep to symphonic compositions to create their unique sound. Their live shows are energetic, powerful and fun. The band has been touring the country and their debut album reached the official Aotearoa Top 20 chart. Their second album will be released early 2026.
Rayner says "The main thing people say is that they haven't heard anything like it, and they love it. So we know people are responding to the emotion and energy."
They list amongst their influences Bring Me The Horizon and Nine Inch Nails and you can hear it in their heavy riffs and precision playing. They are obviously deeply passionate about the music they create, but there's also a humour there which keeps the whole thing grounded.
The band has released a full length album, three EPs and tracks on local and international compilations. They've been touring around New Zealand and Australia.
